This coffee painting is inspired by the Tinalak loomweavers of Southern Mindanao, Philippines. The T'boli tribe women weave patterns they see in their dreams on to the fabric. They get their weaving materials directly from their immediate surroundings. It is said that only a few women have the ability to see patterns in their dreams which can be weaved into Tinalak. Therefore each Tinalak fabric is unique on its own. I celebrate this cultural heritage through this coffee painting.
